Hangul is a distinct writing system that can only be found in Korea.

The founder of Hangul was King Sejong - who invented the Korean writing system during his time, Hangul is a phonetic symbol which represents sounds in every character you can mix the 24 letters to produce sounds and form words to convey a meaning

Hangul is important because it helps lower-class people to read and write because Chinese Hanja is difficult.

Now a days, Korea celebrates a national holiday which is called "Hangul proclamation day" that commemorates the invention of Hangul.

By doing this they are not only celebrating the invention of Hangul but also giving thanks and respect to King Sejong.
